Hi-Pro provides a full line of feeds for all species in our market area which includes Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma and Colorado. Quality is the first ingredient at Hi-Pro Feeds! 

About The Role: Our Senior Business IT Specialist role is responsible for managing and supporting IT operations, systems, and projects across five manufacturing locations for Hi-Pro Feeds.  This role will be based in Friona or Comanche - Texas. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage IT Infrastructure & Operations: overseeing the IT operations, including server room maintenance, local asset management, and troubleshooting hardware like servers, switches, and routers 

  • Support Manufacturing Systems: acts as the primary point of contact for IT hardware and software related to Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and provides application support for local business systems like ERP, ensuring they meet business needs 

  • Lead IT Projects: managing local IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they align with Nutreco's standards and processes while also supporting broader global IT initiatives; assisting with Operations-led projects from IT perspective 

  • Provide Application Support & Training: maintenance and support of local business applications, which includes creating user manuals and training materials to assist business users 

  • Ensure Policy & Compliance: deploying and enforcing Nutreco's IT policies, managing ITIL procedures, and ensuring risk management practices are followed across all sites. 

 

Skills and Expertise  

Qualifications: 

  • A degree in technology or a related field is required 

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the IT field, preferably within a manufacturing environment 

  • Strong skills in troubleshooting complex, high-availability systems, IT support operations, and network administration are essential. This includes experience with virtualization and thin clients 

  • Experience presenting technical ideas clearly and concisely in user-friendly formats and preparing simple network diagrams 

  • Knowledge of project management principles is required 

  • Experience with the selection and implementation of commercial business applications is a bonus 

 

Expectation from the Role: 

  • A self-starter with a hands-on approach 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities 

  • Able to implement and follow processes 

  • Comfortable with facilitating change management 

  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and be mindful of budget constraints 

  • Willing to travel periodically each month for site visits and support
