We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional, who will be responsible for assessing and monitoring risk control measures and standard compliance throughout the company. The Global HSE Team, consisting of 7 members, provides guidance and support to our 100+ plants in 37 countries worldwide, both remotely and on-site. It will be your mission to enhance and protect the organization by providing objective HSE risk and compliance assessments, advice, support, and training to further strengthen and stimulate continuous improvement.  

About The Role: Driving a Zero Harm Mindset Through a Safe Workplace

Responsibilities:  

  • Plan and organise global HSE assessments according to a risk based audit planning. This includes on-site interviews, inspections, and standard checks to ensure compliance with Nutreco’s HSE policy, rules, standards and guidelines. 

  • Process corrective actions from audit observations and incident investigations into the HSE Management System EcoOnline.  

  • Build a relationship with HSE, supply chain, and operational stakeholders in business units and operating companies, coaching employees on safe practices and compliance topics.  

Skills and Expertise  

Qualifications:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as HSE or Engineering or an equivalent higher education in the HSE field 

  • 5+ years of experience as an HSE Specialist or Auditor 

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment 

  • Fluency in English; Spanish, Portuguese are a plus 

  • Willingness to travel globally ~50% of the time 

Expectation from Role:  

  • You will be the expert of HSE initiatives and support the local sites in implementing the global strategy and best practices.  

  • You will build effective relationships with a broad range of managers and HSE officers within the business units and operating companies of the company.  

  • You combine being a natural team player with strong communication skills (who is capable of working in cross-functional teams) with the ability to stand your ground on your own while representing Global HSE worldwide.
