Seeking a Strategic HSE Leader with a vision of implementing our company's HSE Management System!

Location: Western Canada preferred.

Your Mission:

As our HSE Program & Project Lead, you will be at the forefront of implementing our company's HSE Management System across the Business Unit (BU). You will support a team of dedicated HSE Managers and Advisors, coordinating and executing HSE projects to ensure timely, accurate, and sustainable outcomes. Your role is pivotal in embedding a safety culture that aligns with our global standards, all while maintaining strong interpersonal relationships, sound judgment, and technical credibility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Collaborate with HSE Managers and coordinators, as well as site representative to build trust and execute leadership.
  • Lead by example, modeling safety behaviour and reinforcing a safe behavioural culture.
  • Contribute to the direction of HSE for BUNA as a member of the HSE Leadership Team.

Project Management:

  • Develop and implement change management and project plans to drive sustainable HSE projects, including those related to life-saving rules.
  • Design impactful training programs that resonate with diverse teams, fostering a deep understanding of safety protocols and procedures. Trains site HSE or Operations team to deliver.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate HSE policies effectively across the organization, ensuring staff are informed and compliant.
  • Build and maintain a network of stakeholders to support NUTRECO's HSE objectives.

Program Management:

  • Author and maintain BUNA HSE documents within the Document Management System, ensuring compliance with Global HSE standards.
  • Analyze and monitor HSE programs and key performance indicators.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8 years of robust environmental and/or safety experience in manufacturing operations and multi-site HSE management.
  • Self-motivated and highly independent, you will have the autonomy to plan and execute your workday effectively, ensuring that all HSE initiatives are implemented seamlessly and with the highest level of efficiency.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred hiring criteria:

  • Certifications: Project Management, Change Management, Adult Education, IOSH/CSP/HVK.
  • Proven ability to deliver processes effectively and optimize business resources.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • A passion for fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
